What is the glass fire bowl made of?<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\n\t

The fire bowls are made of 100% high-purity quartz glass. Quartz glass is primarily made from natural sand. This exceptional purity (99.998% silicon dioxide) is found only in a few places on earth. This valuable natural raw material is processed for our fire bowls at very high temperatures and through hot chemical processes under clean room conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

How is the glass fire bowl manufactured and processed?<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\n\t
Manufacturing process<\/b>:<\/div>\n
In the production of our fire bowls, natural crystalline sand is melted into quartz glass at extremely high temperatures (>3,000\u00b0C).<\/div>\n
Under protective gas, the sand is melted layer by layer in a graphite crucible using a short electric arc.<\/div>\n
During this process, even the smallest chemical imperfections soften and become visible as tiny (<2mm) dots in our fire bowls. These do not affect the temperature resistance or strength of the glass; rather, they demonstrate the natural origin of this product.<\/div>\n

Our fire bowls are manufactured in a particularly environmentally friendly manner. This is achieved thanks to the self-insulating properties of the quartz sand. While the sand is melted in the mold, the outer layer provides permanent insulation. This saves a significant amount of energy. This effect also creates the beautiful marbling on the outer walls of our fire bowls.<\/div>\n
Following the melting process, the rim is trimmed straight and given a protective layer. After a final quality control check, the fire bowls are packaged shatterproof and then sent to you.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What do I have to pay attention to when handling it?<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\n\t

Please do not throw pieces of wood or other objects into the bowl. Place burning materials inside carefully. And please ensure that you handle it with care, especially around children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    What fuel can I use to operate the glass fire bowl?<\/h3><\/i><\/div>\n\t

    Almost all types of wood are suitable, such as beech, oak, ash, birch, or other deciduous trees that have been properly dried. Avoid using resinous wood (e.g., spruce). This wood produces more sparks when burned and can leave burnt resin marks.<\/p>\n

    Please avoid:<\/p>\n

    • Pressure-treated wood or Euro pallets. The wood must not be surface-treated under any circumstances.<\/li>\n
    • Wood waste containing paint, glue or varnish<\/li>\n
    • Household waste (milk cartons, egg cartons, plastic, paper e.g. weekly newspaper or advertising)<\/li>\n
    • Construction site waste containing screws or nails, as well as remnants of chipboard or plasterboard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Thanks to its smooth interior, the glass fire bowl can be easily cleaned of soot and dirt with water.
